Families often comment that they feel the calm, the care, and the sense of belonging whenever they’re here. As a small, family‑owned Centre, we’re proud that every educator knows every child — their interests, their natural pace, and the little things that make them who they are. We value open, honest communication with families and work in partnership to create a safe, calm, and stimulating environment where children can flourish.

We are guided by Maria Montessori’s principles and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), blending these with modern early childhood practices. Together, they emphasise child‑centred learning, where children are encouraged to explore, discover, follow their interests, and learn at their own pace. Each day, we remain committed to nurturing the unique potential within every child.

Our childcare centre operates from 7.00am to 6.00pm to support busy working families, offering flexible and reliable care for families in Treendale, Australind, and surrounding areas.

Montessori Early Learning, Daycare and Childcare

As a trusted early learning service, Brilliant Beginnings understands the responsibility families place in us. Our experienced team brings warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care to every interaction, ensuring each moment is meaningful for the children in our care.

Brilliant Beginnings is a 63‑place early learning centre with only four rooms. We are intentionally small compared to many centres in the area, allowing us to maintain small class sizes so every child receives the individual attention they deserve. Our Montessori prepared environments and carefully selected materials follow the children’s interests and support development across all key areas.

Our close‑knit team — led by a university‑trained teacher with 30 years of experience, including 10 years as a school principal — works alongside our teaching staff and dedicated educators to ensure learning, daily routines, and transitions are calm, respectful, and guided by each child’s natural readiness. This helps us preserve the joy and wonder of early childhood as children grow into confident, capable, school‑ready learners.

Our commitment to children’s wellbeing also extends to our comprehensive food and nutrition program. Fresh, nutritious meals and snacks are prepared daily in our on‑site kitchen to support healthy bodies and minds. Mealtimes at Brilliant Beginnings are calm, social moments — a time for conversation, connection, and the development of self‑help and practical life skills as children serve themselves, wash their hands, tidy up, and enjoy shared moments around the table.

Montessori Kindergarten & Preschool

Preparing Children for School — and for Life

With over thirty years of experience teaching and leading primary schools and early learning centres, our owner deeply understands how profoundly the early years shape a child’s future. At Brilliant Beginnings, our goal is to give children the skills, confidence, and curiosity they need not only for school, but for a lifelong love of learning.

We are guided by Maria Montessori’s principles and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), both of which emphasise child‑centred learning where children explore, discover, follow their interests, and learn at their own pace. In a Montessori environment, children naturally return to activities again and again, repeating them until they achieve mastery. This builds persistence, concentration, and a deep sense of pride in their achievements. Over time, children develop intrinsic motivation — the desire to keep trying because it feels good to succeed — a quality that supports them in every school setting.

Our kindergarten and preschool program supports essential skill development across pre‑literacy, pre‑numeracy, science, geography, sensorial learning, art, and music — reflecting the breadth of the Montessori curriculum and helping children build a deep, meaningful understanding of their world. Children learn through rich social interactions, purposeful play, hands‑on exploration, and meaningful experiences invite children to think, question, and discover. These foundations help children enter school ready to engage, think critically, ask questions, and express themselves creatively.

Practical Life is central to this preparation. Through purposeful, hands‑on activities such as pouring, transferring, threading, sweeping, and food preparation, children strengthen the small muscles in their hands and fingers — the same muscles they will later use to hold pencils, draw, write, and cut with confidence. These activities also help children develop coordination, concentration, and the ability to complete multi‑step tasks. Just as importantly, Practical Life nurtures an “I can do it myself” attitude. Children learn to care for their belongings, manage their own basic needs, and approach new challenges with confidence. Over time, they become intrinsically motivated — choosing to repeat tasks, refine their skills, and keep trying until they succeed. This independence and persistence directly support a smooth transition into any school environment, where children are expected to organise themselves, follow routines, and participate confidently in classroom life.

Montessori environments are intentionally calm and predictable, supporting children’s emotional regulation and helping them learn to focus, listen, manage their feelings, and take care of their own belongings — skills that make the transition to school smoother and more successful. Our Animal Fun program is embedded throughout the day, giving children playful, movement‑based strategies to regulate their bodies and emotions. These tools help children arrive at school ready to learn: calm, centred, and confident.

Circle time further strengthens school‑readiness skills. This is our intentional teaching time, where children learn to sit together, listen to their educators, take turns speaking, and show respect for the voices of others. They also learn to be respectful of each other’s work — observing quietly, waiting patiently, and protecting a friend’s space when they are concentrating. These experiences nurture kindness, empathy, and genuine care for others while building the ability to participate in group learning, follow instructions, and stay engaged. Together, these social‑emotional skills help children become thoughtful friends, supportive classmates, and confident contributors in any school setting.

Brilliant Beginnings is a 63‑place early learning centre, intentionally small so we can maintain small class sizes and truly know every child. We support smooth, confident transitions into formal schooling so every child leaves Brilliant Beginnings feeling secure, capable, and genuinely ready for the next stage of their learning journey.
